About the Founder

A Life Dedicated to Humanity

At just 25 years old, J Tharun Kumar is a social entrepreneur and humanitarian leader based in Anakapalli, Andhra Pradesh. He founded DEVA Social Service during the COVID-19 pandemic after witnessing mass cremations of unclaimed bodies — people who died alone while their families were too fearful to approach them.

During his own battle with COVID-19 in 2021, Tharun made a life-defining commitment: to perform the last rites of those with no one to care for them, and to serve the most vulnerable members of society — regardless of caste, creed, or background.

Today, DEVA Social Service operates across 9 districts from Parvathi Puram to Rajahmundry Rural, reaching tribal areas in Paderu, PVTG regions, and border communities near Odisha through Pedabayalu — providing dignity where society has often looked away.
